While we absolutely adore your little ones, we have chosen to make our wedding celebrations an adults-only occasion. We hope this advance notice allows plenty of time to arrange childcare and enjoy a relaxing weekend celebrating with us.

Guests are kindly asked to arrive at the Church of the Holy Cross by 1:00pm for a prompt ceremony start.

CHURCH OF THE HOLY CROSS

Nestled beside the historic Goodnestone Park estate, the Church of the Holy Cross has stood at the heart of the village for over 800 years. Its rich history and beautiful Gothic architecture create a wonderfully timeless setting for our wedding ceremony.
Guest parking is available at Goodnestone Park. The church is just a 5-minute stroll from the estate, allowing guests to enjoy the charm of the village and surrounding grounds.
Should you require assistance, shuttle transportation will be available for those with mobility needs or anyone who would prefer not to walk.

GOODNESTONE HOUSE & PARK

In the heart of the Kent countryside, Goodnestone Park is one of England's most enchanting country estates. The house and gardens have been home to the Bridges family for over three centuries and are steeped in history, literary connections, and quintessential English charm.
Perhaps most famously, Goodnestone Park has strong links to Jane Austen, who was a frequent visitor to the estate through her brother Edward Austen and his wife Elizabeth Bridges. It is believed that her time here helped inspire aspects of her novels and observations of English country life.
The estate's history stretches back even further. The nearby village of Goodnestone was part of the lands associated with the influential families who helped shape medieval Kent, during a period that followed the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215, one of the most important documents in English history.
Today, Goodnestone Park combines centuries of heritage with beautifully restored gardens, elegant Georgian architecture, and sweeping views across the Kent countryside. It provides a truly timeless setting for celebrations, bringing together history, romance, and the beauty of the English landscape.

We met at the right time for us.
Since then, life has been wonderfully full.
Between four children, busy careers, sailing adventures, home projects, family gatherings, and the everyday chaos that comes with blending lives together, we've built something we're incredibly proud of.
What we love most isn't the big milestones, but the life we've created in between them - Sunday mornings, long walks, impromptu celebrations, shared adventures, and a home that always seems to have room for one more person around the table.
Goodnestone Park felt like the perfect place to celebrate that story. A place filled with history, family, and timeless charm, surrounded by the people who have shaped our lives and supported us along the way.
We are so grateful you'll be joining us as we begin our next chapter together.

The Sten Weekend

From Friday 21st May to Sunday 23rd May 2027

Before the wedding celebrations begin, we’re escaping to the Hampshire countryside with our closest friends for a weekend of relaxation, laughter, good food, and a little adventure.

Set within the beautiful Avington Estate, our home for the weekend sits beside lakes, woodland and open countryside, offering the perfect setting to slow down and spend quality time together before the big day.

A weekend of good company, questionable decisions, and very little sitting still.

Activities may include:

* Wild swimming
* Clay shooting
* Pool lounging
* Hot tub sessions
* Competitive board games
* BBQ feasts
* Fireside drinks

Participation is entirely optional, but spectating with a glass of wine is strongly encouraged.

Whether you’re joining us for adventure, relaxation, or simply to laugh at Ian falling off a paddle board, there’s something for everyone.

Our only request: come ready to switch off, spend time together, and make some memories before the wedding celebrations begin.
